Does xylitol have any carbs? I didnt know if it was 0 like the truvia or stevia, or it if had some. I thought that if I maybe mix xylitol and Truvia it might give less of an aftertaste. Not that I mind the slight aftertaste, but I was thinking of those who arent all for the sugar free diet. Maybe it would be less diety to them. Just wondering.

hey , what i know is it does have carbs but the body does not use/notice them. so , no to little impact to blood sugar. the packaging says 'such and such' many carbs but you can basically ignore the label. it works great cup for cup like sugar. no aftertaste-my kids love it. very expensive tho'!!!!! don't know about amts for truvia tho'.
mrshofer: And I was wondering about your answer... does it matter what ingredients are being used as long as it falls into the "E= less than 5g fat &more than 10g carbs (up to 45)" category?

steffanie3: Yes the ingredients trump the "numbers" is the saying. It is important to keep in mind the numbers (other than the 45 limit in an E for carbs) are all post book and not intended to be the focus on THM, just keeping foods in their proper fuel categories

steffanie3: as well as eating on plan options. A good exampt is a mini snickers might be able to be squeezed in somehow with numbers, but isn't a nourishing on plan meal option

daisymae27: Hi! I just finished the book, and it all makes so much sense! I just have one question. What amount of healthy fat ( per Smeal or per day) is recommended if you're wanting to lose weight?
Feb 8, 2015 10:51:12 GMT -5
steffanie3: daisymae27 Welcome There isn't a set number, in an S meal you are to eat until satisfied, not stuffed but satisfied. You can have up to a 1/3 of a batch of Skinny Chocolate a day is the only fat guideline I can think of off the top of my head.

steffanie3: You do want to be respectful of things like heavy cream with lots of calories and not as "pure" of fat as coconut oil Does that help?
Feb 9, 2015 22:10:45 GMT -5
daisymae27: Yes, that does help. I have been putting coconut oil with a little THM sweetener in my coffee and then blending it in the blender. It's really good! I guess After years of diets that require me to count fats, I'm afraid I might overdo it.

dynamo: So, I remember reading somewhere that 2 light rye wasa crackers can be used in a FP, but the nutritional info says that 2 crackers is 11 net carbs.. isn't the limit 10 net carbs for FP? Does anyone have an explanation for this? TIA! : )
Feb 11, 2015 17:49:18 GMT -5
steffanie3: Yes two light rye Wasa for FP, one in S, or four in E. Rye is very gentle on blood sugar and they are super low cal

stacylynn: trimhealthygma4him - what is overwhelming to you? Maybe we can help you!

stacylynn: htebe - I have subbed green tea for oolong before. They aren't a perfect switch, but I believe they are close enough to sub for one another. What do the rest of you think?
Feb 16, 2015 10:30:58 GMT -5
steffanie3: I agree Green tea can be subbed in Earth Milk so I took that as they were similar. I personally like all kinds of teas and drink both at different times. Many types have their own benefits, I would use what you have for now

kari1052: does anyone have a package of not naughty rice or pasta they wouldn't mind selling. I want to try it before investing in a case of it in case I hate it.
Feb 22, 2015 11:41:28 GMT -5
steffanie3: kari1052 it wouldn't be the same brand, but Swanson's Vitamins sells individual bags of konjac noodles, Miracle noodle brand. Although I prefer THM's (and THM's are cheaper even with shipping) you could get the basic konjac noodle idea that way

perla: Do any of you still eat any of the RAW recipes from Serene's previous cookbook? I would like to be able to implement the "Sun-dried tomatoe spinach pasta" and the "Classic Green Bean Salad" recipes. Are those still within the THM boundries?
