I'm new to this board and way of eating, and I'm excited to see how this works for me.

Hi, I'm Terrie. I started diet on thursday all was fine. thought I would try the one week fuel cycle. Started that yesterday. ai was doing fine till last night (yesterday) and today. I'm having problems.
The only thing i have done different is start the one week cycle. On monday. and had a whey powder shake with Glucomannan. my blood pressure has elevated yesterday, and today after the smoothie. has anyone else noticed this about the powder. it says that it interferes with absorption of medicine on a moderate level. well i have time release capsules and not long after drinking my blood pressure goes UP.
Is the week cycle to blame? or change in diet, my food pyramid is completely upside down now. Yet i felt so much better after two days. or the powder? help.......

When you're new to this new way of eating, there may be various symptoms at first, due to detoxifying, or cleansing. This may be what's happening. I'm not sure about the protein powder. I haven't heard of these problems coming from the powder before, but it may happen. I'm not sure. I would highly suggest sticking to the regular S and E plan for at least a month or two before trying the Fuel Cycle. It is important to get the basics down first, and to let your body adjust to this new way of eating. The fuel cycle is quite intense. You will probably be much better off starting with the normal plan. Regular S and E work wonders in and of themselves. The fuel cycle is more of a bonus rev, if you need an extra boost after S and E have done some work. You will feel better doing this as well.

Thanks, my Dr also recommended that I go back to what ever was normal, so am just doing the S and E. by powder I meant the thickener. It works by absorbing in stomach. On well Med and RX lists it says it has a moderate effect on medicine taken orally. Mine was not moderate. it made my time release blood pressure ineffective. I had to actually take double pills on both days I used it. Fortunately I tried it first and not my husband. He had a kidney transplant three years ago and the anti rejection drugs must maintain at a certain level. So I have a full bottle ( one teaspoon used) of thickener to sell, give away throw away......sad face here.
Terrie, .

Ah, I see. I suppose it is possible that gluccie could have that effect, seeing as it does slow down the release of sugars in your blood as well. The good news is that this plan has wonderful effects on blood pressure overall. Have you read Pearl's testimony about her husband's blood pressure? Here's a link for it: trimhealthymama.freeforums.net/thread/1404/talk-blood-pressure
