I made the Fat Stripping Frappa this morning and I had some trouble.
I added everythig in order but the 1/2 cup almond milk and 1/2 cup water wasn't enough liquid. My Blendtec kept freezing up so I had to add quite a bit more almond milk to get it to blend, probably close to a cup more? The consistency in the end was nice and it only ended up being maybe a half cup over a qt total.
My Blendtec is brand new, could there be something wrong with it? Or could there be another issue?
Thanks!

I have a blendtech too. I use less ice and blend for a long time after the whey til it really fluffs up.

I like to add just enough ice to just start to peek through the top of the liquid. That gives it the best consistency for my taste.

I have to agree with the others, use a bit less ice and play with it to get the consistency you like.

I wanted to ask about adding 2 Tbs pumpkin puree in stead of cocoa powder? Does this still leave me in FP?

I have a vitamix and I couldn't get the frappa to turn out with the measurements in the book. I've changed it up and now have very good, and consistent, results. Into the blender I add enough almond milk and water to reach almost 2 cups (I vary the amount of each liquid depending on how much almond milk I have that day), a couple of grinds of salt, 2 heaping tablespoons of cocoa powder (I like mine really chocolatey), 1/2 teaspoon of guar gum (I don't like gluc) and then a scoop of whey protein powder. Blend that all up until it's smooth, and then I add in about 1/3c of either raspberries or strawberries and about 10 ice cubes from my ice maker. I blend that for about a minute, or until the berries and ice are completely crushed and blended.

I cannot add as many ice cubes as the recipe states. I stick with 8-12.

I use no more than 9 small ice cubes. I wouldn't want it any thicker anyway. I like to drink it through a straw and sometimes I can barely suck it through...LOL

This is great with a little peppermint extract and coffee added!! Also if you let it sit in the fridge for a couple hours its still great if not better! I fed it to my cousin and she was amazed and said if she could get used to losing weight THM way if this was on the plan!!

Ice sizes seem to vary Preference for how ice or thick vary too.

I like to add the ice while the blender is running on high. This seems to work flawlessly for me and I can make it as thick or thin as I like without the blender seizing.

The first time I tried this it was a bit of a disaster, my family wanted to go to Sonic for shakes and I needed a THM sub for me. I was new to THM and time pressed. Also, I hadn't read this helpful thread yet!! I finally got around to trying it again. Using less ice, about 8 cubes, helped with the blending and mixing. I also used a full teaspoon of Truvia this time, and that balances out the chocolate. But it still tastes watery to me...maybe that's how Frappa's turn out? Or maybe I need to blend more? My ice is separating from the liquid and floating on top as it sits here. Any tips?

Is it blended smooth to begin with? Are you using gluccie or xanthan?
