Haven't gotten my book yet, but wanted to try to start implementing the concepts and I was wondering about nuts. Since almonds and other nuts are considered fats, do the net carbs in the almonds count toward the 10 grams of total net carbs? I was looking at the nutrition information on my bag of almonds and it says there are 8 grams of carbs and 5 grams of fat, leaving a net carb total of 3. Do I count the 3 net carbs toward my 10 gram limit? Or, since nuts are an "S" food, are the 3 grams "free", so to speak? Thanks!

Unless I am misreading your post, I think that you can only calculate net carbs from Total carbs minus FIBER, not using fat grams, so those almonds would still be 8 g carbs Welcome to THM!

Thank you! You're totally right about the calculations with carbs and fiber. The almonds do have 5 grams of fiber, but I mistakenly typed it in as fat. So that would still leave me with 3 grams of net carbs. Would these 3 carbs count toward the 10 carb limit? There are a total of 10 grams of fat in a serving of almonds.
