I've made maple syrup with simple syrup and flavoring for a long time. I would like to still have "maple syrup" so I went in search of a steviva sweetened syrup. I came across this recipe at www.steviva.com and thought I would pass it along. Total Servings 32 Serving Size 2 tablespoons Carbs Per Serving: 1.9 g Prep Time:<20 minutes Skill Level: Easy Nothing is better on pancakes, waffles or French toast than maple syrup. The only problem is Maple Syrup is almost pure sugar. Here's a recipe we came up with in the Steviva Brands lab that is so close to maple syrup we dare you to tell the difference. Plus this is so easy to me. Enjoy! Ingredients: 2 teaspoons Maple Extract 2 cup water 1/2 cup Fructevia, Steviva Blend or a 1/8 teaspoons of Stevia 1 teaspoon Guar Gum or Xanthan Gum or 1/2 of each Directions Bring two cups of water to a boil in a medium or small sauce pan. Add to the boiling water two tablespoons of maple extract. I order mine on line at Cook's ( cooksvanilla.com/ ) it is all natural and tastes amazing. Add the Fructevia, Steviva Blend or a 1/8 teaspoons of Stevia and reduce heat to a simmer. Slowly add the Guar Gum or Xanthan Gum and whisk until fully dissolved. I get my Guar Gum or Xanthan Gum from Bob's Red Mill ( www.bobsredmill.com/) . They have the best products. Reduce heat and let cool.
