Hi. I hope you will post whether the whey powder works as I don't have oat fibre either. Thanks I've used whey powder several times, and it does work. I like the texture of the oat fiber a little better though.

For anyone in NZ looking for oat fibre (or probably anywhere with few people and badly stocked expensive health stores) you can get it from iherb if you're willing to wait for it to get here. Shipping is $4 US for up to 1.8kgs, so you can get a reasonable amount or get other stuff at the same time. Haven't tried it yet though as its out of stock, so will be a while longer to try those recipes. Still waiting for my glucomannan, but way cheaper than sourcing here, usually takes around 3 weeks for my iherb orders to arrive (and I'm South Island rural delivery so that probably adds a 2 or 3 extra days in NZ).

Has anyone actually tried substituting psyllium husk for oat fiber? I was wondering if this was an option as well. There are some brownies I want to make and they call for Oat Fiber. I don't want to buy it if i can use Psyllium husk (I have a ton of that and it's very inexpensive!)

I suspect that they would not work the same. In a bread recipe I have psyllium husk powder really swells up when you add the liquid and oat fiber doesn't seem to do this.

I got some oat fiber. I have to say the muffin fills you up for hours but tastes a bit like cardboard! Have you found anything you enjoy oat fiber in? I seem to be in a smilier spot...

There's also a new cookie recipe out that uses oat fiber. I haven't tried it yet, but I want to see if I can find it and try it maybe next week.
