We made these this morning and we loved them. My littles wanted much more than the amount of batter I had. Is there a way to tweak them so that I could use eggs, not just whites, for their portion? They were hungry pretty quickly after. Can you add a turkey bacon to this and it still be an E? I am just trying to figure out their needs. Thanks!

I would think that unless your children have weight issues, adding some sausage, or scrambled eggs and cheese or something fatty to their breakfast would be just fine. I'm not putting my kids on the plan, just me and my husband. They are thin as rails and I've been feeding them basically S meals or crossovers their whole lives.

We had the pancakes this morning and my kids loved them too. For them I added butter to the cooked pancakes and made turkey sausage links.

Everyone in our family except me, eats crossovers at every meal. I just always look for ways to add a carb to an otherwise S meal or a bunch of fat to an otherwise E meal. Last night we had turkey and roasted broccoli as the center of the meal. That is what I ate. They had turkey, broccoli, and a large portion of spicy brown rice. It is all still very good nutrition and is great for them, but would add pounds for me. I am the only overweight person in our household. Another example is I often make the KKE Smoothie for all of us. I make it according to the recipe in the book except I add 2 egg yolks and freshly grated nutmeg. I take out a portion for me. I then add 2-3 bananas or kiwis to the blender and re-blend. Then, they have a very healthy crossover smoothie.

I haven't finished reading my book yet, so I am just experimenting with some of the recipes. I like that the recipe maintain better sugar levels that is why I want to give them this recipe, but it might get pricey. I just want them to have what I am eating plus some. I wonder how I could make the recipe go farther for them. It can get pricey with the egg whites and cottage cheese.

I think as long as your liquid amounts are the same, whole eggs or egg whites would probably be fine. I am thinking of trying them and putting some of the extra yolks I have around now in theirs.

Yes, just add the yolks to theirs, taking out your portion first with whites only. Great idea.

We had these for breakfast this morning, yummy. I mixed a little bit of gluccomannan powder with some frozen blueberries heated in a pan with a tiny sprinkle of sweetner. And they stayed with me until lunch which is wonderful

we used to make them with yolks all the time but we didn't used to blend the oats or add the baking powder. i love this new way with those additions!
If making a double batch you can add a cup of water instead of the second cup of whites or whole eggs. i can't tell a difference. of course it lowers the protein for E mamma's but it fits the budget or helps you make them if low on eggs!

Great budget idea Family. I add water sometimes too. It saves on calories a bit too and I stay just as full for some reason.

Oooo. . . I mixed up a batch tonight to have ready for me tomorrow. Now I want to make a double batch and share with the kids:) Love the idea of using water.
